I would have loved to take pictures of the food I was having during lunch at The Marmalade Pantry, which you can read about it in this blog post. However, I couldn't. And it was all because my digicam has been acting cranky these days. I am unable to shoot in the usual capture mode (auto) when it comes to food.
If I were to do so, the photos would come out blurrish. And please do not say that it might be due to shakiness as I'm quite 'steady' when it comes to that, and yes, my anti-shake function was switched on. I have to, therefore, shoot in macro mode, which is troublesome. And even so, the photos will not turn out as well as before the digicam started this little protest with me. I'm totally peeved!
And no, it is impossible for me to bring my DSLR wherever I go. So perhaps, it is time to start shopping for a new PNS digicam, which I have been actually thinking of since I have the current set for close to 3 years already. Of which, by the way, I have been considering between a prosumer camera and a waterproof digicam (to take pictures in the water), even before my current digicam started its crankiness.
Friends have been discouraging me to get a prosumer since I already have a DSLR... Well, true.... But.. But... it will be lovely to have a camera set that has almost similar functions to a DSLR, yet smaller in size. Maybe a waterproof camera for me then? ;p

7 Response to Perhaps I need a new digicam soon?
Panasonic Lumix?
Which model?
Are you recommending one that is wide-angle? Im always wondering if the wide-angle function in PNS digicam can be switched off?
I think Panasonic Lumix is gd like what vic said.
get a micro 4 thirds camera.
its has the power of a dslr in the size of a compact digicam.
google for it!
@dblchin Watcha using, babe? :) Lumix is good, heard some gd reviews, but I kinda try to avoid wide-angle lens unless there is a function in the cam to switch it off, which i reckon this sorta technology is not out yet? No idea actually... :S
@csv I know what it is. But the size is still bigger than a typical slim digicam. And you are SO bad, you wanna me to get one of those, and then spend more on buying different lens! You evil!! Hehehee! (If I were to buy a micro four-thirds, will get either one from the Olympus pen series) Im still looking ard for more options, since I know I won't change digicams so often or easily. :)
Get the GF1 or sony new Evil ba, think the GF1 will be more useful when you talking about micro 4/3. The Ep2 may have many new function but however it lack of flash like the Ep1. EP-L1 maybe built in with flash but however it lose out to GF1, EP2 in term of picture. Sony is launching a new system camera know as evil, and think it much small in size. Heard it use APS-c cmos, so the size of sen is bigger then 4/3. chose wat you like princess. D3lonely
